Château Saint-Pierre 2005

, , , , , ,

A very dense, almost black colour, with a pure, jammy nose. On the palate, there are hints
of liquorice, cashew nuts and vanilla. A rich, remarkably smooth structure. The finish is
exceptionally long, with plenty of finesse and elegance. Saint-Pierre 2005 will certainly be
a great wine to lay down.

Rượu vang Pháp cao cấp Château Saint-Pierre 2005

Wine Advocate – Robert Parker – 93/100
« Smart consumers should be checking out this estate whose wines have been superb
over recent vintages… it is a classic St-Julien with sensational concentration and
intensity… It exhibits plenty of earthy crème de cassis intermixed with notes of forest floor,
licorice, and roasted meats. Backward with huge tannin, full body… »

Decanter – **** – 17/20
« Deep velvety red, rich and plumy with a touch of new wood, spicy and lifted with good
depth, seductive fruit, firm tannins. »

Tast Pro – Bettane et Desseauve – 17,5/20
« A dark colour and an extremely noble bouquet with its cedar and berry aromas. Full and
deep, with splendidly controlled tannins. This may be the finest Saint-Pierre in history. »

Revue du Vin de France – 17,5/20
« A subtle, mellow “bouquet of delicate fruit and lovely smoky, vanilla and tobacco notes ;
delightful, creamy and velvety on the palate, fresh and well-balanced. »

Guide Hachette des Vins – *** (an exceptional wine) – Special favourite
« Once again, this wine wins all the votes, firstly for its splendid black colour, secondly for
its deep, powerful bouquet of dark berries, spices and toast, and finally for its palate,
which combines a full, sappy substance with a solid structure : the sign of a long ageing…»

GaultMillau – 18,5/20
« Great finesse… an inky black colour. The substance, too, is highly concentrated. Lovely
blackcurrant, blackberry, cigar box, cherry and wild strawberry aromas when aired, with a
hint of toasting and smoke. Smooth and fleshy on the palate… Perfectly balanced. A wine
for connoisseurs. »
General or Economic Press

Le Figaro – 93-95/100
« …This discreet Cru Classé is well worth knowing as it is remarkably refined and dense. »

Le Point – Jacques Dupont – 17/20
« Cherries, red berries, blackberries, tight, soft tannins, a frexh, tight profile like a 2004 but
the mouth feel has a bit more fleshiness, breadth anf fullness. Persistent red berry
flavours. »
