The 2009 Ducru-Beaucaillou boasts a beautiful deep violet robe. In the mouth, it exhibits a thick and luscious structure, as well as dense, albeit velvety and elegant, tannins. Its fruit is at once rich and dazzling and its finish silky smooth and wonderfully persistent.
Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste 2008 presents an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it offers blackberries aromas dominated by the cassis. In the mouth, this wine has a great aromatic attack with a lot of texture and fruits. Its breed is evident in the splendid length of the finish. Its shows already great balance and style, but it will need time to age to express all its charm.
Dense ruby/purple, with notes of creosote, spring flowers, blueberry and blackberry fruit, this is a rich, medium to full-bodied wine with loads of character and depth. It is usually one of the better values of Bordeaux and it certainly stands out as a major sleeper of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2025.
Beautiful very dark colour. Discreet nose with primary notes that develop in fullness and density. Quite powerful on the palate with very good structure and a nice tannic finish with well-integrated woody notes.
Wine garnet-red color. Soft and full taste of the wine shows a pleasant acidity and well-balanced silky texture. The aroma of wine combines delicate shades of currants, cherries and plums, gentle tone of sweet spice and leather. Wine is served to the game and poultry, is well suited to red meat and grilled meat, it is recommended in combination with cheese.
The 2006 Latour performed even better from bottle than from barrel… From barrel, I thought it was a modern day version of the 1996 or 1986, and certainly the 1996 comparison still holds. I thought it was somewhat austere from barrel, but that is no longer an issue. This is a beautifully rich Chateau Latour boasting a dense ruby/purple color, a sweet, smoky, charcoal, cassis, graphite, and forest floor-scented nose, full body, an attractive freshness, and sweet, noble tannins. This layered Latour is one of the vintage-s top dozen or so wines. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2030
